Why do I have to scan in my ID?

In order for us to identify you as an existing or new customer with no issues, we need a valid official identification document (an identity card, passport, residence permit) to be scanned in. A driver's license is not permitted.

As a telecommunications provider, starting in 2018, Sunrise is legally obligated under the Federal Mail and Telecommunications Monitoring Act (BÜPF) to identify all customers with a valid ID and to store a digital copy of this ID in the customer's account.
