Project camp 2022

Welcome Days 2022

This year, we were finally able to host our project camp again, which we have not been able to do in recent years due to Covid. We are pleased to report on this year’s project camp, which was all about sports and nutrition.

Our campsite was located not far from us in Bern am Hasliberg, and the trip there went smoothly. After lunch, the individual workshops started right away. While some learned about healthy nutrition, others had the opportunity to learn about proper exercise. Cooking itself was also part of the program. Over the course of the week, the individual groups took part in their workshops one after the other. Aside from the educational aspect, it was also a lot of fun. We noticed how the teamwork in the groups improved.

Nutrition workshop:

We learned a lot about nutrition together with a number of specialists. While we learned about what’s important in our daily diet, we also discussed the influence the Internet has on us. We discovered the best way to eat and what to pay attention to when surfing the Internet for recipes, workouts, diets or basic nutrition tips.

Sport Workshop:

Together with Matthias Glarner, well-known for «Schwingen», or Swiss wrestling, we were able to learn about exercises that help us and our stability in everyday life. He gave us some basic tips to help us stay fit and happy.

Kochen:

The cooking part not only entailed preparing meals for the camp, but also learning how to work in a kitchen. Teams were assembled and recipes were distributed; we were then able to cook these recipes ourselves. All our fellow trainees then ate the meals that we had cooked in groups at lunch and dinner.

The last two days were about reflecting on what we learned and testing our knowledge. After this, it was sadly already time to clean up and get ready for the ride home. The camp was incredible and we gained a lot of experience that we can integrate into our everyday lives. We look forward to hosting the project camp again regularly in the future.
