Seu Jorge is an artist who knows no boundaries. With a career spanning more than three decades, he has the ability to find his feet in various forms of artistic expression. Not only is he one of the biggest names on the Brazilian music scene, but he is also no stranger to the film industry. He has played characters in cult films such as City of God and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, for which he reinterpreted David Bowie's songs in Portuguese. "Art is a way of connecting. My job is to create and share stories that speak to people in different ways," he says.

In February, his latest album Baile à la Baiana was released, recorded with the band Conjuntão Pesadão, which has accompanied Seu Jorge for years. The album combines the power of black music from Carioca - such as funk, soul, Banda Black Rio, Banda do Zé Pretinho and Banda Vitória Régia - with the lively rhythms of Bahia.

In addition to his music and film projects, Seu Jorge is CEO of Black Service, a cultural production center focused on promoting black artists. His influence spans continents, from samba in Rio de Janeiro to the stages of the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden. With his legacy, Seu Jorge challenges conventions and transforms art into a tool for dialog and revolution.
