Portugal. The Man reached new heights in 2017 with the release of his album "Woodstock", which has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. The album was marked by the astonishing success of their infectious single "Feel It Still", which earned the group a GRAMMY for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance", a 7x RIAA platinum award, a record 20-week stay at #1 on the Alternative radio charts and an inescapable presence on the Top 40 airplay charts. On March 15, they will be playing at Komplex 457 in Zurich.

Alongside the glitter of their countless musical successes is the group's long-standing passion for social justice. It is precisely at this intersection that Portugal. The Man succeeds at: throughout their career, the band has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to both art and activism. This ultimately inspired them to form the Pass The Mic Foundation in 2020, which focuses on universal issues related to human rights, community health, and the environment, with a focus on causes that directly affect indigenous peoples, including Alaska Native Health (providing the highest quality health services to Alaska Natives) and Seeding Sovereignty (radicalizing and disrupting colonized spaces through work in the areas of land, bodies, food sovereignty, and more). The band is also committed to raising awareness and critical funds for the DHDDS community through the Frances Changed My Life campaign. The campaign was created in honor of Gourley's daughter, Frances, and aims to support families affected by DHDDS by helping them ease the emotional and financial burden that comes with rare diseases. In recent years, the band has raised and donated over one million dollars to both charities.

Portugal. The Man has also partnered with a number of organizations, including the National Coalition Against Censorship, The Skatepark Project (which helps communities build public skateparks for youth in disadvantaged communities), March for Our Lives (gun reform), Keep Oregon Well (mental health) and Protect Our Winters (climate change), to name a few. In 2022, the band continued its commitment to activism by launching PTM's NIGHT OUT initiative, which supports disabled fans in need of barrier-free access.

In support of these important causes, Portugal. The Man has actions planned throughout the year! In July, Pass the Mic is teaming up with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard for their festival dates in Colorado, and in September, an online auction will be held in support of Frances Changed My Life, featuring rare experiences with the band and friends, memorabilia and more!
