On October 17, Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) will release his fifth album Deadbeat. On it, Parker presents a collection of incredibly powerful club psych experiments that serve as a vehicle for some of his most direct and catchy songs to date. Today he has announced an extensive tour of the UK and Europe to promote the album. On April 14, 2026, Tame Impala will be coming to Zurich's Hallenstadion.
The tour starts on April 4 in Porto, Portugal, and ends on May 13 in Dublin, Ireland. The Artist Presale begins on Wednesday, October 1, at 10 a.m., and the general presale begins on Friday, October 3, at 10 a.m.
Tame Impala have so far released "Loser" and a music video directed by Kristofski and starring Joe Keery, as well as "End of Summer," a sprawling 7-minute epic that recalls the acid-house summer of 1989, mid-90s free parties and bush doofs in outback paddocks - an imagined history transformed into something simultaneously present and eternal, but still unmistakably Tame Impala. The track was accompanied by a short visual narrative staged by multidisciplinary artist Julian Klincewicz.
Parker recently released the 12-song tracklist for Deadbeat, which is now available for pre-order HERE. Fans can purchase two exclusive vinyl color variants in the webshop, available HERE. The variants include an exclusive color vinyl from Urban Outfitters and an exclusive color vinyl from Indie Record Store. A limited number of numbered cassettes will be sold exclusively at Brooklyn Vegan and Alternative Press. On April 14, Tame Impala will bring the album to Zurich's Hallenstadion.
Deadbeat is heavily inspired by bush doof culture and the rave scene in Western Australia, transforming Tame Impala into a kind of futuristic primitive rave act. The album was recorded in various locations over the past few years, mostly in Parker's hometown of Fremantle and his studio Wave House in Injidup, Western Australia, in the first half of 2025. Deadbeat sounds like the work of an artist with a new mastery, created with a newfound spontaneity for the renowned perfectionist. This manifests itself in a distinct minimalism and crunch, with timbres and textures that add an indescribable new dimension to the sound, as well as a richer, more playful vocal range than ever before.
Lyrically, Parker conveys an endless dejection in Deadbeat, a self-deprecating failure stuck in a negative feedback loop when he should have gotten his life together long ago. After dealing with time in "The Slow Rush" (2020), Deadbeat focuses on the nuanced details of everyday emotional life. Combined with the euphoric and dance-inducing music, Deadbeat presents rave as self-questioning, self-medication instead of self-care, and the rush as domestic bliss. Reality can wait for another day (or two).
Kevin Parker has emerged as one of the most influential voices of the last decade. A unique artist known for creating his own unique sound, Parker creates transcendent, genre-bending soundscapes, playing every instrument himself and serving as songwriter, producer, mixer and engineer for his projects. He has been nominated for four GRAMMY Awards, winning one for his collaboration with Justice on 2024's "Neverender", and has received an impressive 13 ARIA Awards and 27 nominations in his home country of Australia. He has won the BRIT Award for Best International Band and has been nominated for two Billboard Music Awards and an American Music Award. Tame Impala has had numerous songs in the US Alternative Radio Top 10, including two number 1 hits with "Lost In Yesterday" and "Is It True". Tame Impala's "The Less I Know The Better" is part of the Billionaires Club with over 2 billion streams and the project has received numerous gold and platinum awards worldwide. Tame Impala has headlined festivals and arenas around the world and has released four full-length albums: "InnerSpeaker", "Lonerism", "Currents" and his latest album "The Slow Rush". "The Slow Rush" hit #1 in several countries and was his highest charting album to date in both the US and the UK, with 14 top 10 chart positions worldwide. As a songwriter and producer, Parker has collaborated with Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, SZA, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Mark Ronson, Gorillaz, Thundercat, Kali Uchis, 070 Shake, Rihanna, Miguel, A$AP Rocky and many others.
