In a career spanning more than four decades, Cross has sold over 10 million albums. His music has been recognized with five Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an Emmy nomination and five top 10 singles. On May 8, Christopher Cross will be playing at Theater 11 in Zurich.

Christopher Cross conquered the music scene with his self-titled debut album from 1980 and won five Grammy Awards, including - for the first time in the history of the Grammys - the four most prestigious awards: "Record of the Year" (for the single "Sailing"), "Album of the Year", "Song of the Year" (also "Sailing") and "Best New Artist".

Within a year of the release of his first album, Cross co-wrote the song "Arthur's Theme" with music star Burt Bacharach for the film Arthur, which won the Oscar for Best Song. With his album Another Page, released in 1983, Cross once again made it into the Top 10 with the singles "All Right" and "Think of Laura". His song "Swept Away", composed for the successful television series "Growing Pains", was nominated for an Emmy.

Cross founded his own label and has released eight albums of new material since 2007, including "A Christopher Cross Christmas" and "The Café Carlyle Sessions", jazz interpretations of hits and favorites recorded during his stay at the famous Hotel Carlyle in New York City. Take Me as I Am, released in 2018, is characterized by rich melodies and elegant guitar sounds. The latest project from Christopher Cross Records is aptly titled The Complete Works. Released in 2020, it celebrates his 40th anniversary as a musician and is a collection of all 12 previously released CDs, a CD of singles and bonus tracks and a pink vinyl record featuring one track from each album, selected by Christopher himself.

Now on tour, he's back playing the carefully composed songs and tunes his fans love, starting with "Sailing" and "Ride Like the Wind" from his Grammy-winning debut album and continuing through the decades of his ever-changing but always excellent material. Concert dates can be found in the tour section of his website www.christophercross.com

All in all, it's been an exciting journey that has taken Cross from his beginnings in Texas, where he once worked as a drum tech for Ginger Baker, bought gear from Jimmy Page and played lead guitar for Deep Purple on a night Ritchie Blackmore was sick, to his current position as a respected singer-songwriter and guitarist who continues to share his original music with the world.
