Portuguese multi-talent MARO live in Zurich
MARO has been touring for three years and playing to sold-out audiences worldwide, both as an acoustic trio and as an electronic duo. With the announcement of their new album "SO MUCH HAS CHANGED" - a tribute to a brighter, more optimistic sound - MARO opens a new chapter and presents a show with a full band line-up to audiences worldwide for the first time in 2026.
MARO is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Lisbon, Portugal. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, she started her musical career in 2018 and released five albums and an EP in the same year. She was then part of Jacob Collier's band and accompanied the musician on his world tour. In her career to date, MARO has performed as a support act for artists such as Shawn Mendes, Jessie J, Gipsy Kings, Odesza, Parcels and other well-known acts.
In 2020, the tireless MARO created "ITSAME, MARO!" - a 100-piece collaboration series with artists from all over the world, including Eric Clapton, Pablo Alborán, Lizzy McAlpine, Vitor Kley, and many more. After winning the "Festival da Canção", she was able to represent her home country Portugal in front of an audience of millions at the "Eurovision Song Contest" in 2022 with the song "saudade, saudade" and secured a place in the top 10. While her album "can you see me?" (2022) combines influences from pop, trap, world music and folk, "hortelã" (2023) is an acoustic trio album that she recorded with the Catalan guitarists Darío Barroso and Pau Figueres. With "hortelã", she won the prize for "Portuguese Album of the Year". MARO shows that she does not fit into a musical box and that she is constantly evolving. In 2026, she will be touring with a full band for the first time.
