BEAT: Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, Tony Levin and Danny Carey resurrect King Crimson
Former King Crimson members ADRIAN BELEW and TONY LEVIN, together with guitar virtuoso STEVE VAI and Tool drummer DANNY CAREY, have formed the band BEAT, a creative reinterpretation of the three legendary King Crimson albums from the 80s - "Discipline", "Beat" and "Three Of A Perfect Pair". In 2024, the ensemble played 65 sold-out concerts in North America, followed by performances in Mexico, South America and Tokyo. Fans in Switzerland have been waiting a long time, and now the supergroup will be playing live in Zurich for the first time on June 22, 2026.
Before the 2024 tour, guitarist Adrian Belew reflected: "King Crimson created their very own music between 1981 and 1984. Timeless. Beautiful. Complex. Wild. For the fans who lived through that time, and those who never got to experience it, we want to bring it back to life. A monumental task, but we will tackle it!"
Guitarist Steve Vai said: "Being part of this ensemble is an extraordinary privilege and a great opportunity to perform some of the most beloved, timeless and monumental music of the 80s (and beyond) with truly inspired musicians. This music moves me deeply. Adrian, Tony and Danny are unique musicians with an exceptional ability to present complex music in a very accessible way and I look forward to discovering each other's musical ideas on stage in real time. I'm sure there will be sparks flying."
Drummer Danny Carey said: "I'm thrilled to be on stage with three of my all-time favorite musicians. Tony, Steve and Adrian have been a source of inspiration to me since the beginning of my career and to be able to share a part of my musical journey with them is a dream come true. There's nothing like getting out of your musical comfort zone to create sparks and fire under your ass, and I can't think of three other people I'd rather do that with. I think I speak for all of us when I say that I hope all of our fans will be as excited about this tour as we are."
