LATIN MUSIC ICON JOINED BY 20-PIECE BIG BAND
25 Grammy awards (13 Latin Grammys and 12 Grammys) speak for themselves. Rubén Blades is an icon of Latin American music and is considered a co-founder of salsa consciente. His songs combine infectious rhythms with social relevance.
On his FOTOGRAFÍAS TOUR, which will also take him to Zurich, Blades will be accompanied by the Roberto Delgado Big Band, which consists of 20 Panamanian musicians. The tour is named after his latest album, which was awarded the Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album. It continues Blades' collaboration with Roberto Delgado and his orchestra. According to the artist, "the band shows its versatility in the interpretation of different instrumentations: with two trumpets, three trombones, as an orchestra and as a big band". In addition to new tracks such as "Fotografías", "Emigrantes" and "Hoy por ti", the album also includes songs that Blades has written over the course of his more than 50-year career and that have been recorded by other artists in different decades.
Blades will delight his audience with a carefully curated setlist that includes pieces from the new album "Fotografías" as well as classics of Spanish-language music - including "Pedro Navaja", "Decisiones" and "Amor y Control".
