Here is a list of all the benefits included in the basic insurance at the base price.

Emergency operations center (available 24/7, 365 days a year); in case of an emergency, the operations center can be reached at 0800 322 322 (from within Switzerland) or +41 800 322 322 (from abroad).
The insurance provides personal assistance, including full coverage (with no deductible) for medically necessary return transport to Switzerland. It covers transport to the nearest suitable hospital or to one near the insured person’s home. Assistance includes coordination in emergencies such as serious illness, accident, or death during the trip. Additionally, it ensures repatriation arrangements are handled quickly and efficiently.
Covers legal expenses up to CHF 100'000 per insured legal case while traveling abroad. It includes internal legal support and reimbursement of external costs such as attorney fees, court charges, and expert reports. The coverage applies to legal disputes involving accidents, insurance claims, administrative proceedings, and travel-related contracts. Exclusions apply to deliberate offenses, professional activities, and routine travel.
Coverage is provided if the insured person cannot continue their journey due to a breakdown, accident, or technical defect of a public transport service or a missed connection caused by the first transport service. No coverage applies if the operator is legally responsible for the damage or if the insured person is at fault.

The insurance covers the cancellation of private trips due to unforeseen events such as illness, accidents, or unforeseen unemployment. It reimburses cancellation costs based on a valid contract with travel-related providers, and covers events like severe damage to property or travel document theft before departure.
Breakdown assistance abroad covers the repair or towing of insured vehicles in case of sudden mechanical failure, with services provided at no cost to the policyholder. Additionally, it includes the transportation of the vehicle back to Switzerland if it cannot be repaired locally within three days, and it covers necessary accommodation or travel costs up to CHF 2'000. For rental vehicles, a deductible reduction of up to CHF 5'000 is offered, covering damages caused by accidents or theft, with specific conditions and exclusions in place.
The insurance covers loss or damage to personal items during the trip, including theft, transport accidents, or natural disasters. The insured person is entitled to reimbursement up to the replacement value of the items, based on the current new price. A deductible of CHF 200.– applies for each claim. Items not covered include cash, electronics, and damages caused by the insured person’s negligence.

Contract conclusion

Sunrise insurances can only be taken out online. The coverage start date is freely selectable. If you choose today as the start date, coverage begins after midnight on the following day.
The insurance contract is considered concluded upon receipt of a confirmation by email, which also includes the policy. You will then receive the invoice in a separate email.
