What made you decide on Sunrise when you were looking for a job?

I was already part of the Liberty Global family and so I was familiar with Sunrise. For me, Sunrise has always been the cream of the crop among operational companies. I appreciate what Sunrise and UPC have achieved and am delighted that they’ve merged. We are now ready to set our strategic course so that we can seize the market opportunities and become a national champion.

How did you find the recruitment process?

Super smooth and efficient, very agile. Our Recruitment team is simply brilliant. What’s even more important is that the experience did not end there. I’ve been getting lots of invaluable support ever since.

What do you particularly like about your job?

I’m a strategist that loves to drive transformational efforts and see actual, tangible value being created and captured. And my current role enables all of that. Together with my colleagues in Digital and Sunrise-wide collaborators, we’re embarking on a journey to redefine customer centricity in our sector, to deliver delightful, super-smooth and innovative digital experiences. Our aim is to build strong human-to-human ties with our employees, customers and a larger ecosystem of partners, ultimately doubling our company value

What do you think makes an employer a great employer?

Values that I can relate to, a sense of purpose that calls to me and people that I enjoy working for and with. Something that makes sense to me. And people I love working for and with.

Do you make use of the opportunities for flexible working?

I do use flex work, it’s a great tool for smoothing out daily challenges and better blending work, private and family life.

What does work-life balance mean to you?

I hate the term. I think it’s totally misleading. Life is about more than just work and I want to make sure my work works for my life. Enjoying myself, being daring, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, constantly developing. And I like to do it together, accompanied by people that share similar values and a sense of purpose, to dive into a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment so that I can thrive.

What has been your best moment here?

I joined Sunrise in mid-May, so I’m still new to this role within the company – but not new to the wider Liberty Global family. I’m sure my best moments are still ahead of me. Meanwhile I’m enjoying my first weeks, getting to know people, starting to collaborate, having first lunches and coffees, embarking on the journey to delight our customers and deliver value for our company. I really appreciate my colleagues’ engagement, the can-do approach and the overall vibe of positivity and growth.

Do you use the training and personal development that is on offer?

I’m a big believer in life-long learning. I think nowadays you need to un-learn and re-learn constantly to stay on top of trends, to be a better leader and employee and to keep up with your profession. In the technological and digital fields, all these exponential dynamics are even more vivid. They change our lives. And so I’m constantly learning – on the job from my collaborators and business partners. I follow thought-provoking leaders, creators and innovators. I learn from my network that I very much care about and invest in. And I appreciate the training and personal development offers.

How about the team spirit and social life?

Team spirit is strong here; I felt at ease and welcomed from the very beginning. I’m very much looking forward to our next team get-togethers and team-building events so that we can get to know each other even more beyond, and not just in terms of work. I’m always curious about my colleagues. Who are they, what are they passionate about, what do they stand for?
