Liberty Global transaction

Information about the acquisition of Sunrise by Liberty Global

On August 12, Liberty Global, the parent company of UPC, gave notice of its offer to acquire Sunrise. Following approval by the relevant authorities and Sunrise shareholders, who accepted the offer, the transaction has been finalized.

From November 11, 2020, UPC and Sunrise will no longer be competitors, but subsidiaries of the same parent company, Liberty Global. However, both UPC and Sunrise will continue to act independently.

Nothing will change for UPC and Sunrise customers, and all existing subscriptions and contracts remain valid. UPC and Sunrise will continue to focus on providing the highest quality of service to all customers and partners, which is our top priority.

The ultimate goal is to merge UPC and Sunrise into one great new Swiss company in early 2021, and we will now continue working together on the integration. With this new company, we will have a unique combination of Switzerland’s leading gigabit fiber optic cable network and one of the best mobile networks in the world. This fixed-mobile convergence will create a real, even stronger challenger that will drive competition and innovation in the Swiss market.

We will provide further updates in due course.
