5G SA is 5G’s next evolution. As an independent 5G core network, it enables end-to-end 5G connections without relying on 4G infrastructure. This makes it the basis for new applications and powerful, reliable mobile connectivity wherever it matters for business: from office to campus, transport and production environment. Sunrise Business is making 5G Standalone available to you now and supporting you in making targeted use of its full potential. Let’s drive forward your company’s digital transformation together.
Thanks to ultra-low latency with near real-time response and high data-transmission rates provided in line with your needs, 5G SA is up to ten times faster than 4G/LTE and means you can fully exploit the potential of 5G when implementing your customer-specific solution, such as MPN Slicing or IoT . In this way, 5G SA supports efficient use of artificial intelligence, machine-learning, edge computing, predictive maintenance, augmented reality and virtual reality. Applications respond almost in real time, enabling innovations and efficiency gains to be accelerated across industries; for example, in healthcare and automated Industry 4.0.
Activate the «Business 5G SA max» option
Until now, 5G SA has only been available via a Mobile Private Network (MPN). With the Business 5G SA max option, you can now also use the technology with selected Sunrise Business mobile and data subscriptions – and benefit directly from more stable, higher-performance connections in everyday use.
The standard 5G SA features, including better 5G coverage, longer battery life and the highest voice quality, are also included in Business 5G SA max.
The Business 5G SA max option is available only to customers with an existing Sunrise Business mobile subscription which includes unlimited data in Switzerland.
The Business 5G SA max option can be cancelled monthly.
If activation takes place during a month, the remaining part of that month will be charged pro rata.
The option is valid and active immediately after activation. The option renews automatically and remains active after activation until it is deactivated.
Transmission speeds reflect the best possible performance and cannot be guaranteed. Actual Internet speed depends, for example, on topography, network coverage, distance from the transmission mast, signal strength inside/outside buildings and other factors, and may be lower than the stated maximum Internet speed.

With 5G NSA, data and voice connections are linked to the 4G network. 5G SA connections run exclusively via 5G, which improves capacity and latency noticeably.

There is currently no dedicated 5G SA symbol.
The VPN option with Business Remote Access (RCA) is compatible with 5G SA. Older VPN solutions such as the Corporate APN option remain limited to 4G/5G (NSA) connections. More about IP-VPN
