First, the good news: More than half of all CIOs stated that their IT budget for 2020 will increase, with only 8% expecting their budget to be reduced. Employee numbers are expected to follow a similar trend.

Finding personnel in the IT sector that meet the current requirements of the IT landscape is a major challenge for many CIOs.

The most important topic is cybersecurity, which is not particularly surprising, given the increased threat posed in cyberspace. In Switzerland itself, hacker attacks on hospitals just before the holidays caused something of a stir.

Many IT managers also have the issue of cloud migration on their agenda this year. And this project is seen as a challenging one. When asked about their preferred cloud provider, most CIOs gave Microsoft as their answer. What is interesting is that more than 20% of those responsible for IT rely on a multi-cloud strategy.

Of course, you cannot leave out the issue of digital transformation when talking about digitization. However, this term is open to different interpretations, with some questioning the entire business model, as well as the digitization of business processes.
