Motion Detector

Function overview

  • Detects infrared signatures to identify movement in the protected area and signals the base station to trigger an alarm

  • Typical detection range: Up to 12 m at mounting height 2.4 m

  • Pet immunity: Ignores pets up to 25 kg

  • Two-part design: Cover (electronics & optics) and base (mounting)

  • LED indicator

    • Lights for two seconds for motion detection when battery is low or button is pressed (battery low).

    • No LED indication with normal battery level (except in Test mode)

  • Battery

    • Uses 2 × 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries (pre-installed, with insulator)

    • Low battery → app message + optional push notification, call, SMS, email

    • Battery replacement:

      • Remove old batteries

      • Wait 10 minutes

      • Press LED button twice (discharge batteries)

      • Insert new batteries

  • Supervision

    • The Motion Detector sends monitoring signal periodically

    • If signal not received → “Accessory Failure” in app + optional push notification

  • Sleep timer

    • Once motion detection activated, enters ~one-minute sleep mode (no signals).

    • Further motion within this period adds one further minute, up to three min. max.

  • Pet immunity (Jumper JP3)

    • ON = Pet immunity disabled

    • OFF (default) = Pet immunity enabled (ignores pets of up to 25 kg)

  • Sensitivity adjustment (Jumper JP4)

    • ON (default) = increased sensitivity

    • OFF = normal sensitivity

Installation
1
Switch on

Remove the battery-isolation strip to switch on the detector.

2
Registering with the app

Follow the instructions in the app to add the Motion Detector.

3
Alternatively: Add the Motion Detector manually
  1. Put Base Station in pairing mode (press Reset/Learn for six seconds until LED flashes blue).

  2. Press and hold LED indicator on detector for three seconds (LED lights up).

  3. Success = one beep from base station. If the detector has not been added within 25 seconds, please repeat the pairing process.

Tip:

Give each detector a uniquely name for easy identification.

4
Placing/mounting the Motion Detector
  • Mount on flat wall or in corner → widest coverage

  • Keep field of view clear (no curtains, furniture, etc.)

  • Recommended mounting height: 2.4 m

  • Higher mounting = larger pet-immune zone, but bigger blind spot below

  • Choose a location to which animals cannot climb.

  • Do not aim the device at staircases.

  • The objective is that intruders should move sideways across the field of view.

  • Mounting:

    • With screws and wall plugs

    • Alternatively, with double-sided adhesive pads (included)

Limitations

  • Not for outdoor use

  • Avoid having large obstacles in detection area

  • Avoid direct sunlight

  • Avoid damp or condensatiuon-prone areas

  • Avoid moving objects (e.g., curtains)

  • Avoid reflective surfaces (e.g., mirrors, windows)

  • Do not install near AC/heaters

  • Avoid reflected IR signals (may cause false alarms)
