How does it work?
Add Smart Upgrade to switch every 24 months
With Smart Upgrade you reduce your monthly instalments by up to 25%. Every 24 months you can switch your device. If you want to keep the device, you just pay the remaining balance. You won’t pay more than with a 24-month plan.
Add Flex Upgrade to switch anytime
With Flex Upgrade you can switch devices anytime for any reason - even damage and theft are covered. Or you can try out a new phone and switch, if you don't like it. iPhone users benefit from AppleCare and iCloud+ additionally.
Choose Flex Premium Bundle for maximum benefits and savings
Combine Smart and Flex Upgrade to enjoy the benefits of both options. You commit to a 24-month contract binding to unlock a 50% discount on your mobile subscription. Available for everyone, even if you're mid contract.

Smart Upgrade
Smart Upgrade offers full flexibility. After 24 months, you decide whether you want to upgrade or keep your smartphone. You have the following options:
Upgrade to any smartphone model and return your current model within 14 days of receiving the new one.
Simply keep your current smartphone and pay off the remaining balance either over the next 12 months or all at once.
Return your current smartphone.
No matter which option you choose, you’ll never be any worse off financially than with a traditional device plan – that’s why Smart Upgrade is always a good choice, even if you’re not sure whether you’ll want to upgrade in two years.
As with any device plan, you can cancel Smart Upgrade at any time. If you do cancel early, you’ll need to pay all the outstanding monthly instalments and the remaining balance. For information on how much you’d have to pay if you decide to cancel early, please visit My Sunrise.
No surprises with the transparent and simple classifications of Smart Upgrade when you return your iPhone. As long as the device is fully functional, it will be classed as Good.
Good = the smartphone may have marks, dents and scratches, but no broken parts (screen, port, etc.), and the battery must be over 80%.
In this case, the value of the smartphone is 100% of the remaining balance. You can upgrade to a new smartphone without making any further payments.
Damaged = the smartphone has a crack in the screen, broken ports, is bent or the battery is below 80%.
In this case, we’ll have to examine the smartphone more thoroughly, and you'll need to pay at least part of the remaining balance.
Broken = the smartphone isn't functional, the display isn't working, the battery is swollen, there are LCD issues, non-original parts have been installed, «Find My» (iOS) or «Find My Device» (Android) is enabled.
Grade C devices are recycled by our licensed partner in Switzerland. In this case, you'll need to pay the full remaining balance.
Since the vast majority of emissions are generated during the manufacturing process, the most sustainable option is to get the maximum operating life out of a smartphone. On average, our customers use smartphones for a period of 24 to 36 months. After that, over 50% of these devices end up in a drawer. If the device is refurbished professionally after 24 months, this enables a second owner to use it for another 24–36 months, which results in a total device lifespan of 48–72 months.
Flex Upgrade
For repairs, you’ll be charged an excess of between 50.– and 150.–, depending on the original price of your device (excluding discounts).
Price of device – up to CHF 899.99: 50.–
Price of device – from 900.– to 1399.99: 100.–
Price of device – from1400.– to 2500.–: 150.—

In case of damage, you can either: upgrade to a new device of your choice or have your current device replaced by the insurance provider.
In either case, you’ll be charged between 50.– and 150.– depending on the original price of your device (excluding discounts):
Price of device up to 899.99: 50.–
Price of device from 900.– to 1399.99: 100.–
Price of device from 1400.– to 2500.–: 150.—

In the event of theft, you can either: upgrade to a new device of your choice or have your current device replaced by the insurance provider. In either case, you’ll be charged between 50.– and 150.– depending on the original price of your device (excluding discounts):

Price of device – from 1400.– to 2500.–: 150.—

With Flex Upgrade, the choice is yours. You can switch to a less expensive or more expensive device. The monthly price of the device, as well as the Flex Upgrade fee, is calculated based on the retail price of the new device (excluding discounts).
Your previous device plan will be cancelled and all outstanding payments (including the remaining rate if you have Smart Upgrade) will be waived. A new device plan will be created and Flex Upgrade will be activated for the new device. You must return or send in your old device within 14 days of receiving the new one. If you fail to do so, you will be billed for any outstanding payments on your device plan (including the remaining rate if you have Smart Upgrade). The new device plan cannot be cancelled.
No, a smartphone can only be exchanged for another smartphone. Similarly, a tablet can only be exchanged for another tablet.
Flex Premium Bundle
In principle, both new and existing customers can benefit. The conditions are:
A mobile subscription with Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global. If you already have another or older mobile subscription, you must migrate to Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global. Any existing discounts will be removed and replaced with a new 50% discount on Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global. The only exclusions are customers who are in an ongoing contract with a promotion from which they have benefited from a gift (e.g., Samsung TV), welcome discount/cashback, or device plan promotion.

The Flex Upgrade option.
Flex and Smart Upgrade customers who renew their device plan with one of the programmes can also benefit from the Flex Premium Bundle. The condition is a mobile subscription with Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global. If you already have another or older mobile subscription, you must migrate to Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global.
The price of the Flex Premium Bundle is composed of the following components:
Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global: Your mobile subscription with a 50% discount.
Device plan: Either a 24-month device plan or Smart Upgrade.
Flex Upgrade: Variable price depending on the smartphone - from 7.50 per month.
Yes, the Flex Premium Bundle is activated immediately with your order, regardless of whether the smartphone is available. You benefit immediately or from the end of the month from a 50% discount on your Swiss Connect subscription. As soon as the smartphone is delivered, we will charge you the monthly rate for the device and Flex Upgrade. From this point, you have 24 months to renew your device plan to continue benefiting from the Flex Premium Bundle.
The 50% discount on Swiss Connect Neighbors, Europe+ or Global is guaranteed as long as the subscription and an associated device plan with Flex Upgrade are active. If Flex Upgrade is cancelled or the device plan is fully paid off, the 50% discount also expires. As soon as the smartphone is delivered, we will charge you the monthly rate for the device and Flex Upgrade. From this point, you have 24 months to renew your device plan to continue benefiting from the Flex Premium Bundle.
With the Flex Premium Bundle, you have the freedom to choose. You can switch to a cheaper or more expensive device. The monthly device price and the Flex Upgrade fee are calculated based on the sale price (without discounts) of the new device.
Renewal with Flex Upgrade:
Your current device plan will be cancelled and all outstanding payments (including the final instalment in the case of Smart Upgrade) will be waived.
A new device plan will be created, and you will benefit again from the Flex Premium Bundle.
You must return your old device within 14 days of receiving the new device to a Sunrise shop or send it back with the prepaid return package. Otherwise, all outstanding payments of the device plan (including the final instalment in the case of Smart Upgrade) will be charged to you.
The device plan renewal process cannot be cancelled or reversed.
Early or full repayment:
You can pay off your device in full or early and choose a new device plan.
You will benefit again from the Flex Premium Bundle.
In both cases, the Flex Premium Bundle is renewed with a 24-month contract commitment.
