Photo Motion Detector
Function overview
The Photo Motion Detector is a passive infrared (PIR) motion-sensor camera that sends wireless detection signals and images when movement is detected.
Detection range: up to 12 m when mounted at 2.3 – 2.5 m
With pet immunity enabled, it ignores pets of up to 25 kg.
LED indicator
Blue LED ON for 1.5 seconds: Movement is detected and battery is low
Slow flash: 30-second warm-up period
Continuous flash: Sending images due to a fault (e.g., low battery)
Double flash: acknowledgement from Base Station
Image capture
When armed, sensor captures three alarm images (320 × 184 px) per movement detected.
Complex environments with intense light/colours may result in larger file sizes and truncated transmissions.
Warm-up period
When the alarm system is switched to Active mode the Photo Motion Detector will warm up for 30 seconds. During this time, the detector sensor is inactive.
Battery
Uses 2× 1.5 V “AA” alkaline batteries
Low battery → app message + optional push notification, call, SMS, email and the blue LED lights up for 1.5 seconds when motion is detected.
Battery replacement:
Remove old batteries, wait 10 miuntes then press Function button twice to discharge.
Insert new batteries.
Plus pole must face upwards.
Supervision
The Photo Motion Detector regularly sends a self-test signal.
If signal not received → “Accessory Failure” in app + optional push notification
Pet immunity (JP3)
ON = Pet immunity disabled
OFF (default) = Pet immunity enabled (ignores pets of up to 25 kg)
Sensitivity adjustment (Jumper JP4)
ON (default) = increased sensitivity
OFF = normal sensitivity
Remove the battery isolation strip to switch on the detector.
Follow the instructions in the app to add the Photo Motion Detector.
Put base station in pairing mode (press Reset/Learn for six seconds until LED flashes blue).
Press and hold LED indicator on detector for three seconds (LED lights up).
Success = one beep from base station. If the detector has not been added within 25 seconds, please repeat the pairing process.
Tip:
Give each detector a unique name for easy identification.
Mount on flat wall or in corner → widest coverage
Keep field of view clear (no curtains, furniture, etc.)
Recommended mounting height: 2.3–2.5 m
Higher mounting = larger pet-immune zone, but bigger blind spot below
Choose a location to which animals cannot climb
Do not aim the device at staircases
The objective is that intruders should move sideways across the field of view.
Mounting:
With screws and wall plugs
Alterntively, with double-sided adhesive pads (included)
Limitations
Not for outdoor use
Avoid having large obstacles in detection area
Avoid direct sunlight
Avoid damp or condensatiuon-prone areas
Avoid moving objects (e.g., curtains)
Avoid reflective surfaces (e.g., mirrors, windows)
Do not install near AC/heaters
Avoid reflected IR signals (may cause false alarms)
Test the detector by walking past it. Check whether you receive a notification on your mobile phone, then view the live image in the Home Security app.
