Activate and use We Connect watch

With We Connect watch, your smartwatch receives its own mobile subscription and phone number.
We will explain to you how to set up and use your We Connect watch subscription on your smartwatch.

Requirements for connecting your smartwatch

Requirements and activation

You will need:

  • an Apple Watch Series 4 or later

  • the watchOS 7 or a later operating system

  • an iPhone 6S (or later) with iOS 16 (or later) for one-time activation

Use Apple Family Setup

With Apple Family Setup, family members can use the Apple Watch without their own iPhone.

Carrier settings Sunrise 31.1 needed

To activate and use the We Connect watch subscription with the iPhone, you will need at least carrier settings Sunrise 31.1.

Search for and install carrier settings

  1. Make sure that your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network.

  2. Select Settings > General > About. If an update is available, an option to update the carrier settings will be shown.

Show carrier settings

Select Settings > General > About.
You will find the information you need under Carrier.

Use abroad

Roaming

It is currently not possible to use the We Connect watch subscription abroad with the Apple Watch. The EXPLORA Watch supports roaming.

Use Bluetooth connection

With the Bluetooth connection to your smartphone, you can use your smartwatch to make and receive calls.
The smartwatch uses your mobile phone’s mobile network.

Usage by a third party

Like a separate subscription

You can allow other people to use the smartwatch with We Connect watch. The additional phone number is explicitly intended for this purpose.
Since the smartwatch with We Connect watch has its own subscription, the product is suitable for being passed on to a family member.

Subscriptions and devices are not connected

Calls, messages and access to apps via the smartwatch are independent of your mobile subscription.
