Premium SMS messages
Premium SMS - value-added services
Premium SMS are paid short messages used to access so-called value-added services, such as public transport tickets, games, donations, competitions, chats, adult entertainment, or information (e.g., horoscopes, sports news). These services are offered by third parties and are billed via the mobile phone invoice or deducted from the prepaid credit upon receipt of the Premium SMS.
Important information
The service providers are responsible for the content, services, and prices of the offers.
Premium SMS are delivered via 3- to 5-digit short codes and are generally available from the age of 16 with Sunrise. In MySunrise, usage can be activated for users under 16 (services for ages 18 and above are excluded).
Short numbers starting with 6 are assigned to so-called "adult services" and are reserved for users aged 18 and over.
Premium SMS can only be charged if the user has previously given their consent (OPT-IN via SMS to the short number or via the payment confirmation page by entering the SMS PIN). Without an "OPT-IN", no Premium SMS charges can be applied.
A subscription for premium SMS is valid per service for a maximum of 6 months or a total amount of CHF 400.
Sunrise offers cost control and blocking options for premium SMS in MySunrise. These apply either generally to premium SMS or specifically to dedicated short numbers or categories.
To avoid further charges, an SMS with the text "STOP" or "STOP ALL" must be sent to the respective short number.
