Switch to Sunrise
Would you like to switch to Sunrise and keep your current mobile number? Not a problem. Simply sign up for the subscription you’d like at Sunrise and authorize us to cancel your current mobile contract.
Our employees will be happy to help you with this, either in a shop or on the phone. If you sign up for your new Sunrise subscription online, you can specify «Keep current mobile number» during the order process and you’ll be guided through the process step by step.
Mobile subscription: How does number porting work?
1. Specify number porting in the order
If you want to port a number from a mobile subscription, we need:
The name of the contract holder
The earliest date on which you can leave your current provider at no additional cost
The date when you’d like your number to be transferred (transferring before the end of the contract may incur fees)
This information must be exactly the same as in your current contract; otherwise your number cannot be ported. To receive this information, send a free SMS reading INFO to the number 503 of your current provider. You’ll then receive an SMS in reply containing the relevant information. Enter it in the next steps of the order process.
What happens next? As soon as you’ve completed the order for your new Sunrise subscription, we’ll check the details you’ve provided for number porting with your current provider. You’ll receive an SMS or an e-mail confirmation from us as soon as your request has been approved.
Date for number transfer
Number porting can take place no sooner than seven working days after you’ve submitted your request. Number porting is not possible on weekends and holidays.
2. Grant authorization and have your old contract cancelled
If you order your Sunrise subscription online, you or the contract holder can grant the authorization directly during the order process by signing with your finger or computer mouse. This authorizes Sunrise to cancel your old mobile contract.
If you’re not the current contract holder, please send the authorization request by e-mail. To do so, simply click on the corresponding option during the order process.
What happens next? We’ll send you your new SIM card and you’ll receive a reminder via SMS 24 hours before your number is ported. The message will also contain information on how to proceed.
Sunrise cancels your old contract
We’ll cancel the old contract. Please do not take any action, as this will delay number porting.
3. Number porting
Number porting will take place on the confirmed date. From then on, your old SIM card will be invalid and can be replaced with your new Sunrise SIM card.
