Using Home Security day to day
Security modes
Your Home Security system has three security modes (alarm modes), which you can control with your Keypad, Key Fob or Home Security app – «Inactive», «Away» and «At Home».
Inactive: No sensors in your home are active. This is useful when you’re at home and want the freedom to move around or go in and out of your home.
Away: All sensors are active and will trigger an alarm. This mode should be used when leaving the house.
At Home: When you’re at home and you only want certain sensors to be active. You can choose which sensors are active using the app.
Activating and deactivating the alarm
Make sure that the doors and windows are closed before activating/deactivating the alarm. You have three options:
Via Keypad: Enter your PIN and choose the mode you want to activate.
Via Key Fob: Press the button for the mode you want to activate.
Via Home Security app: Log in to your app and choose on your dashboard the mode you want to activate.
SOS function
In the case of an emergency, you can use the SOS button on either the Keypad or the Key Fob.
Press and hold the SOS button for longer than two seconds to trigger the emergency call / panic alarm.
This will lead to:
a call to the emergency contacts listed in the app
the base-station siren will be activated

No Internet
You will be notified if the Internet connection fails. In such a case, please contact your Internet service provider.
No electricity
In the event of a power failure or sabotage, the emergency power supply ensures that the alarm system will continue to run for around four to six hours – the siren will continue to function during this period.
Yellow LED and system error
If the LED on the front of the base station flashes yellow, this indicates a malfunction. Please check the app to determine the exact cause.
Connection error between accessory and sensor
Press the button on the corresponding device.
If the LED does not light up, check whether:
The plastic tab in the battery compartment has been removed.
The batteries are dead.
The device is defective.
If the LED does not light up even after changing the batteries, please contact our Customer Service.
If the LED lights up, move the base station and the device closer to each other until a stable connection is established.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, you can monitor your system worldwide and receive alerts via text message, email and in the app.
You can deactivate the alarm easily by using the Keypad, Key Fob or the app.
The batteries last for an average of two to four years. It depends on how often a sensor or device is used. You can change the batteries yourself. You will find detailed instructions at sunrise.ch/homesecurity.
If there are no obstructions, the sensors/devices can reach a distance of 30 metres. In some cases, thick walls and other obstacles can limit the range.
All sensors/devices use the reliable 868 MHz frequency range. This is a frequency specifically reserved for security devices and is not vulnerable to interference from other devices.
You can define which sensors you want to be active when you are at home. And this can be customised. For example, you can turn off the photo motion detector and arm the door contact sensors.
The photo motion detector is pet-friendly. It does not react to pets that are less than one metre tall and weigh under 25 kg. Your cat can lie on your sofa without being noticed. However, if pets get too close to the detector, it may trigger an alarm.
