Mobile Phone Settings
The ability to view images on your mobile phone depends on the type of mobile phone. Viewing images on your mobile phone may incur data usage charges. Check with your mobile provider before viewing images on your mobile phone.
Installation
Have you got everything?
Before you start the installation check if your package contains the following items:
Video Doorbell
Wireless chime (extra bell)
1x Mounting plate
2x Mounting wedges (to allow for different angles of installation)
Extension cable for connection to existing doorbell wiring
Small screws for mounting the mounting plate on the vertical or horizontal wedge
USB-A to USB-C charging cable
Sunrise Home Security door/window stickers
Charge the Video Doorbell for at least 12 hours before first use. Use the supplied USB-A to USB-C charging cable. Connect the charging cable to an existing USB-A charger. This can be any USB-A charger used for charging a mobile phone.
Turn on the Video Doorbell. Do this by pressing the "Power" button for 6 seconds. The Doorbell Button with Indicator Light will now light up green, and a startup sound will be heard followed by several monotone beeps. The doorbell is now ready for registration.
Log in to the Sunrise Home Security App to add the doorbell to your Home Security Service. Tap on the “+” Symbol on your home screen and then choose “Add Device”. Select the “Add cameras / doorbells” option and follow the next steps from within the app.
The supplied wireless chime lets you hear when someone rings the doorbell in any desired room. The wireless chime is pre-registered to your Video Doorbell and works immediately. Place the wireless chime in the desired room in the socket and test if it is within the wireless range of the Video Doorbell by ringing the doorbell. If the wireless chime does not sound, place it closer to the Video Doorbell.
Find a suitable place to install the Video Doorbell. Preferably, this is the place where the current doorbell is installed. Please keep the following in mind:
Always ensure that the Video Doorbell is aimed exclusively at your own property. The Video Doorbell should never be aimed at public space.
Ensure that the camera lens is never exposed to direct sunlight, as this can negatively impact image quality.
The Video Doorbell is weather-resistant (IP66). To prevent excessive exposure to wind, rain, and snow, when possible install the device in a covered area. This also helps prevent raindrops on the lens from making the footage unusable.
If you replace the button of your current doorbell with the Video Doorbell, check if the doorbell transformer in your meter box has a voltage between 8V and 24V AC. Then remove the old doorbell and slide the two wires of the existing wiring each into a separate hole of the supplied loose plug at the extension cable. Now squeeze the transparent end with pliers. The wires are now connected to the copper connections in the plug.
If you want to rotate the Video Doorbell horizontally or vertically, first mount the vertical or horizontal wedge with the opening of the wedge over the hole where the wires come out. Attach the mounting plate to the wedge using the supplied small screws.
Connect the extension cable to the plug connected to the old doorbell wires. Then connect the U-shaped connection points on the other side of the extension cable to the connection points on the back of the doorbell. Slightly bend the U-shaped connection points towards each other to form a V-shape.

Attach the Video Doorbell to the mounting plate with a sliding motion downwards. The Video Doorbell will now click into place on the mounting plate.
If you want to remove the Video Doorbell from the mounting plate again, keep in mind that the Video Doorbell is now anchored to prevent theft. To release the anchoring, insert a small flat screwdriver exactly in the middle at the bottom between the Video Doorbell and the mounting plate. At the same time, carefully slide the Video Doorbell upwards.
Now test the Video Doorbell by pressing the doorbell button. Check if you receive a notification on your mobile phone and then view the live image from the app.
Important notes
If your wireless network (WiFi) has changed, you may need to reset your Video Doorbell before changing the wireless network settings.
Removing the Video Doorbell
If you want to charge or reset the Video Doorbell, you must first remove it from the mounting plate. The Video Doorbell is anchored to the mounting plate by an anchoring at the bottom of the mounting plate. Insert a small flat screwdriver at the bottom between the Video Doorbell and the mounting plate to release the anchoring. At the same time, carefully slide the Video Doorbell upwards.
Communication via Live Image
When viewing live images via the app, first tap the microphone button. Communication with people in front of the camera lens is then made possible.
Reset procedure
Press the "Reset" button three times in a row. The Video Doorbell will emit several beeps to indicate that the reset procedure is being performed. First, remove the doorbell from the mounting plate. Then press the "Power" button three times in a row. The Video Doorbell will emit several beeps to indicate that the reset procedure is being performed.
Important Recommendation
Recordings are kept for a limited period. If you want to keep a recording longer, you need to download it.
Re-registering the Wireless Chime
The supplied wireless chime could be disconnected from the Video Doorbell after the reset procedure. To re-register the wireless chime to the Video Doorbell, follow these steps:
Connect the wireless chime to a socket near the Video Doorbell.
Press and hold the button with the music note symbol on the wireless chime for 3 seconds until the light on the wireless chime starts flashing.
Then press the round doorbell button on the Video Doorbell.
The wireless chime will now emit a chime to indicate that it has been successfully registered to the Video Doorbell.
Place the wireless chime in the desired room and test if it is within the wireless range of the Video Doorbell by ringing the doorbell. If the wireless chime does not sound, place it closer to the Video Doorbell.
Setting Human Detection
You can enable or disable Human Detection in the Sunrise App. If you enable Human Detection, only a notification will be sent, and a recording will be made when a person is detected using smart Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
Human Detection works optimally:
When the doorbell is mounted at 2 meters height
For people who are fully in view at between 5 meters and 10 meters
The Video Doorbell should look at people as straight as possible
