Transfer a physical SIM card or eSIM

from an old Samsung Galaxy mobile to a new Samsung Galaxy mobile

Step-by-step instructions

To complete the following steps, you’ll need your old and your new Samsung Galaxy mobiles.
1. Add eSIM (new mobile)
Select Settings => Connections => SIM manager and click on «Add eSIM»
2. The transfer process will start
3. Click on «Transfer SIM from another device»
4. Check One UI version
Check whether the old mobile has at least One UI 5.1.
5. Unlock old mobile
Unlock your old mobile and place it next to the new one.
6. Click on «Transfer» on the old mobile
7. A confirmation code is required
The old mobile requires a confirmation code, which is displayed on the new device.
8. A confirmation code will be displayed
Enter the confirmation code displayed on the old mobile.
9. Enter the confirmation code
Enter the six-digit confirmation code.
10. Continue on the new mobile
The next step must be carried out on the new mobile
11. Click on «Transfer»
12. Continue on the old mobile
The next step must be carried out on the old mobile
13. Click on «Confirm»
14. eSIM transfer
The eSIM will now be transferred to the new mobile
15. Click on «Done».
Finish the transfer on the new phone.
16. eSIM transfer
The eSIM will now be transferred to the new mobile
17. The SIM information is being checked
18. The Sunrise eSIM will be added to the new mobile
This may take a few minutes.
19. eSIM ready
The eSIM is now ready for use on the new mobile.
20. eSIM transferred successfully
The eSIM has been transferred successfully to the new mobile.
21. Remove eSIM (old mobile)
Click on «Remove» to remove the eSIM after the transfer from the old mobile
