Connect App

The Connect app helps you set up your Wi-Fi at home easily. With a simple scan of your home, it shows you how to optimise your Wi-Fi in every corner. With just a few taps, you’re in control of your home network. We’ll show you how it works.

  1. Download the Connect app from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android):

  2. Log in using your My Sunrise or My UPC login details.

Once you’ve logged in with your password, you’ll receive an email with a code that you’ll need to enter in the app. This is for your security so that no unauthorised persons can access your Wi-Fi settings.

    Note:

    • If you're a Sunrise customer, you’ll need your email address, account number or phone number, and your password.

    • If you're a UPC customer, you’ll need your email address and password.

    Note:
Devices using the guest Wi-Fi have no access to other devices on the Wi-Fi network (e.g., Wi-Fi speakers).

4.  Check and optimise the Wi-Fi (home scan)

You can use the Connect app to test the speed of your modem and Wi-Fi.

  1. To perform a home scan, make sure you’re connected to your home Wi-Fi.

  2. Scroll down to «Home scan» on the «For you» screen and tap on «Start home scan».

  3. Follow the instructions on the screen and check the results.

    Note:
If the performance is poor, the app will suggest a range of improvements, including ordering a Connect Pod. The app links you directly to the My Sunrise order page. As a UPC customer, you’ll have to order a Connect Pod by phone.

Once you’ve completed the Wi-Fi test, you can also check whether your modem has a good connection to our network. Follow the steps on the screen. If you want to run a modem test without testing the Wi-Fi first, go to the device screen, tap the Connect Box icon, and then tap «Test modem speed».

5. Connect Pods

  • If the test shows that your connection would benefit from a Connect Pod, a message will appear once you’ve performed a home scan.

  • If you already have Connect Pods and haven’t installed them yet, you can do so via «Devices» > plus icon > «Add Connect Pod» > «Start installation». Please follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Go to the device screen and tap on a Connect Pod to check its connection status.

  • Go to the device screen, tap on a Connect Pod, then tap «Find Connect Pod». The LED on the corresponding pod will now flash until you tap on «Found!».

    Note:

    • If you're a Sunrise customer, you don’t need to configure the Connect Pods via the app. You can simply plug them in and they'll connect to your existing Wi-Fi network automatically.

    • If you're a UPC customer, you’ll need to add the Connect Pods via the app.

6. Back up and restore your Connect Box settings

You can save your Connect Box settings (such as the Wi-Fi name and password) as a backup in the cloud. If you replace the modem, you’ll be able to restore the settings. To do so, please proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the «For you» screen and tap on the settings icon at the top left.

  2. Make sure the «Automatically back up network settings» switch is enabled. When it's enabled, your Connect Box settings are stored in the cloud.

  3. Falls Sie ein Zurücksetzen auf Werkseinstellungen Ihrer Connect Box durchführen müssen oder einen Modemtausch benötigen, werden die Modemeinstellungen wiederhergestellt.

FAQs about the Connect app

Verify and confirm your email address in your My Sunrise or My UPC customer account.

Please also check the spam folder in your email account.

Only Sunrise or UPC customers with a Connect Box can use the Connect app. Customers with a Sunrise Internet Box and Connect Pods need to use the Sunrise Smart Wi-Fi app. Unfortunately, no app is available for Sunrise Internet Box customers without Pods.

  • Any Connect Pods that you’ve installed are detected automatically. Sunrise customers with a Connect Box can simply plug the Connect Pods into a power socket. They will connect to the existing Wi-Fi network automatically (plug and play).

  • UPC customers must first add the Connect Pods in the Connect app. To install a Connect Pod, go to the device screen, click on the plus icon and select «Add Connect Pod». Follow the steps on the screen.

Important: Sunrise customers with a Sunrise Internet Box 1, 2 or 3 must use the Sunrise Smart Wi-Fi app to install the Connect Pods. Download the Sunrise Smart Wi-Fi app from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android).

  1. Go to «Devices» > plus icon > «Network settings», select your network, and then tap on the «Edit» icon.

  2. Set a new network name and password.

  3. Wait a few minutes. You’ll need to update the Wi-Fi details on all your devices, including those on which you’ve installed the Connect app.
