Change Wi-Fi from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz

What is a frequency band?

A frequency band refers to a particular frequency range within which signals are sent. Wi-Fi waves can be transmitted via the two frequency bands 2.4 GHz (GHz = gigahertz) and 5 GHz."

What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz?

Frequency bands differ in speed and distance. Compared to the 5 GHz network, the 2.4 GHz network has a wider range, but is slower. Generally speaking, the 5 GHz network is used less and therefore offers a better connection than the 2.4 GHz network.

Both frequency bands – 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz – are activated at the same time on the Connect Box 3. The modem selects the better frequency automatically.
