The Elvis Presley tribute «Elvis» always works best when the King of Rock and Roll brings his audience to fever pitch with his sexy hip swing and African-inspired sound – accompanied by wild tracking shots, spectacular close-ups and split-screen snapshots. Baz Luhrmann’s famous directorial work invariably casts a spell over the audience thanks to the interaction between young talent Austin Butler and Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks. A meta-action comedy in which Oscar-winning Nicolas Cage plays himself for once. In this role, he’s persuaded to attend the birthday party of a billionaire fan to revive his movie career. But everything turns out differently in the end, meaning that fans of Cage movie classics such as «Con Air» (1997), «Face/Off» (1997) or «Gone in 60 Seconds» (2000) in particular will enjoy the many references and movie quotes.
