James Gunn’s action comic «Superman» – available in the VoD store from 6 November
«Superman is the story of America,» said writer and director James Gunn in a recent interview. David Corenswet plays the immigrant from the planet Krypton who lives in the USA. Clark Kent champions interpersonal values like friendship and charity, and – as Superman – he fights against villains like Lex Luthor (played here by Nicholas Hoult). Super-dog Krypto ultimately steals the show.
Dakota Johnson in «Materialists» – available in the VoD store from 6 November
In this romantic comedy, Dakota Johnson, playing the role of matchmaker Lucy Mason, finds herself caught in a love triangle between the ideal man Harry Castillo (Pedro Pascal) and her fickle ex-boyfriend John (Chris Evans). This film is not only a critique of today’s dating circus and high-society matchmaking, but also sees love sparks fly.
Sheer horror in «Weapons» – available in the VoD store from 13 November
Justine Gandy (Julia Garner) enjoys being a teacher, but her job turns into a nightmare when one day only one child shows up for class. As it turns out, all the boys and girls seem to have disappeared without a trace in just one night. What’s going on? The answer comes in the form of a thrilling horror trip that ends in destruction. We can’t reveal any more than that just yet.
Gangster hunt in «Caught Stealing» – available in the VoD store from 25 November
In Darren Aronofsky’s thriller farce, former New York baseball player Hank Thomas (Austin Butler) is drawn into the local gangster scene at the end of the 1990s, even though he’s only supposed to be taking care of his neighbour’s cat. Will his girlfriend Yvonne (Zoë Kravitz) be able to help him keep his head above water? For fans of dark humour.
Two unlikely twins in «Twinless» – available in the VoD store from 27 November
Dennis (James Sweeney) and Roman (Dylan O’Brien) have both lost their twin and meet for the first time in a support group that’s been set up for cases just like these. A very special bond forms through their shared trauma. A relationship melodrama very much reflecting the modern zeitgeist, with new surprises around every corner. Heart-warming, and not just for twins.

Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut is full of emotion: when Eleanor Morgenstein (tremendous performance by June Squibb) loses the most important person in her life after more than 70 years, she moves to New York City. She wants a fresh start. But at the age of 90, making new connections is no easy feat. In her longing for human connection, she befriends a 19-year-old student.
Pure thrills in «Bring Her Back» – now available in the VoD store
After the death of their father, Andy (Billy Barratt) and his nearly blind half-sister Piper (Sora Wong) are left all on their own. Andy wants custody of Piper, but isn’t yet of legal age. That’s why they’re forced to move in with foster mother Laura (Sally Hawkins as you’ve never seen her before), who already has a foster son Ollie (Jonah Wren Phillips)... and displays some very strange behaviour. A tough but skilfully made horror film, even for connoisseurs of the genre. Sensitive minds be warned!
