Strong partnership between Sunrise and Swiss-Ski – you benefit too

Sunrise has been a main partner of Swiss-Ski for three years and is starting its fourth season together. This commitment includes not only top-class sport, but also the promotion of young talent and popular sport. In addition to future ski stars, you also benefit from our commitment to snow sports. Find out more in an interview with Gabriel Thomann, Head of Sponsoring & Loyalty.

"The start to the ski season in Sölden with Swiss podium places in the men's and women's races is very promising – especially as our ambassador Marco Odermatt won the opening race," explains Gabriel Thomann, beaming when asked what we can expect from the 2025/26 season.

From mid-December to the end of January, Switzerland becomes the epicentre of winter sports. For the Sunrise sponsorship team, this means an intensive phase full of highlights before the Winter Olympics start in Italy in February. Here are the most important dates you shouldn't miss:

  • Davos Nordic | 12 – 14.12.2025 – Cross-country skiing race men and women

  • St. Moritz | 12 – 14.12.2025 – Alpine skiing women

  • Adelboden | 10 – 11.01.2026 – Alpine skiing men

  • Wengen | 16 –18.01.2026 – Alpine skiing men

  • Laax | 17 – 18.01.2026 – Ski & Snowboard Freestyle men and women

  • Crans-Montana | 30.01. – 01.02.2026 – Alpine skiing men and women

Sunrise is on site at all these events as a Swiss-Ski main partner to ensure that fans won’t just experience exciting races, they’ll also savour very special moments.

Swiss-Ski tickets advance sales

The partnership with Swiss-Ski offers exclusive opportunities that you won't find anywhere else. "We were the first in Switzerland to offer coveted tickets for the legendary races in Adelboden – a whole week before the official start of sales!" says Gabriel Thomann enthusiastically. And that's not all: 400 VIP tickets were available too, guaranteeing an unrivalled experience.

These tickets mean you can take a trip to the world of Sunrise Moments – right up close to the racing action in unique spots, such as the Sunrise Loube at the legendary Hundschopf, the Hospitality Lounge in Wengen or the new House of Sunrise in Adelboden. "And we keep on surprising our customers with competitions where they can enjoy exclusive benefits. It's worth checking our Sunrise Moments platform regularly," reveals Thomann.

Discounted tickets for selected ski regions

"We want to delight our customers with attractive offers and lots of Swissness," explains Thomann. "We’re proud to be offering these discounted tickets in selected ski resorts and are constantly expanding these partnerships." As well as regions like Arosa-Lenzerheide, Andermatt-Sedrun and Adelboden-Lenk, where we were already offering discounted day passes last year, Davos-Klosters, Samnaun and the Pizol region are now also included.

Equally important: Promotion of youth sport

While the big stars make the headlines, Sunrise is working with Swiss-Ski to bring the enthusiasm for snow sports to young people. At the Sunrise Snow Days, over 8,000 children experience a day on the piste every year. Many of them have had no direct connection to winter sports and have never been on skis or a snowboard before.

"To counteract this trend and get children interested in snow sports, we’re working with Swiss-Ski to invite school classes from the third to sixth grades to take part, primary-school pupils from towns and communities with difficult access to snow sports. In this way, we’re giving the children an unforgettable experience on the piste," says Thomann happily.

"And that's not all," he continues. "The JUSKILA by Sunrise offers around 600 young people a week full of snow sports and camp life. It is the largest snow-sports camp in Switzerland and has been held in Lenk every January since 1941."

In addition, the Freestyle Day initiated by Sunrise takes place towards the end of the winter season. At the last event, 80 children aged between 7 and 14 had the unique opportunity to meet Swiss freestyle stars such as Andri Ragettli, Mathilde Gremaud, Nicolas Huber and Jan Scherrer – the elite of freestyle sport. Alongside the stars, the young people enjoyed a day of action, fun and progress. Gabriel Thomann explains: "We’ll continue and develop this unique event further this season."

Technology and emotion in harmony

"It's always impressive to see how the various Sunrise teams contribute to the success of these major events. All teams work hand in hand, from network infrastructure with mobile and fixed networks and local technology, which ensure smooth processes for information and communication on site, to brand activation and customer experiences with VIP events," explains Gabriel. When Swiss athletes are also successful in the sport – as in Wengen 2024/25 with the double victory of Marco Odermatt and Franjo von Allmen – then that’s always the "icing on the cake", as he puts it.
