Ryan Gosling stars in the sci-fi thriller «Project Hail Mary» – available from 11 May in the VoD store.

Ryland Grace (a strong Ryan Gosling) is actually a teacher, but wakes up with no memory on a spaceship – 12 light-years from Earth. As the last survivor, he must find a way to stop the sun from being extinguished. And he has an incredibly cool close encounter of the third kind too. – Based on Andy Weir’s novel, this thrilling and entertaining sci-fi adventure tells a story of hope, science and unexpected help.
Jacob Elordi in the drama «Wuthering Heights» – available from 21 May in the VoD store
Heathcliff, an orphan (played by Jacob Elordi, star of «Euphoria» and «The Kissing Booth»), is raised by the Earnshaw family and falls in love with Cathy. Their passionate relationship becomes increasingly intense and destructive. – Emerald Fennell adapts Emily Brontë’s classic novel, focusing on the first half, with a new soundtrack by Charli xcx and a hefty dose of eroticism that’s caused a stir among fans.
Sydney Sweeney stars in the thriller «The Housemaid» – available from 6 May in the VoD store
Millie Calloway (Sydney Sweeney) takes a job as a housemaid with the wealthy Winchester family, but behind the façade lurk dark secrets and an unpredictable mistress of the house. – Comedy specialist Paul Feig directed this thriller, loosely based on Freida McFadden’s bestseller, with a keen sense of erotic tension and plenty of humour.
Animal horror in the thriller «Primate» – available from 14 May in the VoD store
Lucy is visiting her family in Hawaii, but a rabid chimpanzee poses a deadly threat. – This horror film from Johannes Roberts («47 Meters Down») is inspired by Stephen King’s «Cujo». The monkey was portrayed by an actor using animatronics and despite the unrealistic rabies premise, the film was shot in Hawaii.
Rachel McAdams stars in the castaway thriller «Send Help» – available from 19 May in the VoD store
After a plane crash, Linda (Rachel McAdams) and her hated boss find themselves stranded on an island and have to fight for survival – even against each other. This thriller by genre veteran Sam Raimi («Evil Dead») skilfully blends a survival story with a psychological showdown. Filming took place in Sydney and Thailand, among other locations. The film score by Danny Elfman is also excellent, as is the guest appearance by an old acquaintance (Bruce Campbell).
Insider tip: Top music documentary «EPIC: Elvis Presley in Concert» – from 21 May in the VoD store
This captivating music documentary focuses on Elvis Presley’s Las Vegas years in the 1970s, drawing on newly discovered footage. The film was directed by Baz Luhrmann, who previously directed the feature film «Elvis» in 2022 and is once again given free rein to let his creativity run wild. You don’t really learn much new about the life of this rock ’n’ roll legend, but the sound and visuals are simply captivating.
